Yoga For Labor and Delivery with Melissa Feldman Time: 2:15 PM - 4:15 PM In this special prenatal workshop, mamas-to-be will learn how to use yoga as a tool during labor and delivery. They'll learn which specific asanas to use during labor to open up the pelvic floor and to facilitate the baby's dance down the birth canal. They'll learn how to work with their birth partner in supportive and pain-coping asanas. Breathing exercises and the use of certain practices of pranayama will be taught to help mamas go within and draw out their inner strength to get through labor and delivery. They'll also learn how the use of sound can help them get through labor and help them open up so they can push their babies out. Partners attending will learn how to help moms-to-be focus and return to the breath, while learning how to physically support the mamas in various asanas during labor and offer them a calming energy. Investment: $30 ($10 additional for partner) with pre-payment by September 16, $35 ($15 additional for partner) after September 16 |

Yin/Yang Yoga Workshop with Danielle Lee Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM In order for our practices to encourage a balanced equilibrium on all levels of our being, we must address both the Yin, or receptive aspects of our nature, as well as the Yang, or active, radiant qualities. Come experience the stillness in movement and the flow in stillness in this workshop aimed to balance these two energies — yang and yin, active and receptive, effort and surrender. Yin yoga is a practice of long-held floor postures designed to enhance energy distribution and increase range of motion in the joints and the deep, dense connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Restorative and rehabilitative for the joints and muscles, Yin practice facilitates and deepens more "yang" or active styles of yoga, and is an ideal complement to it as well as to our fast-paced lives. You will be guided through a series of sequences of long held yin, dynamic flow or yang, and restorative postures that will bring ultimate benefit to meridians, organs, muscles, joints, and tendons, as well as restore and revitalize the body and mind. Investment: $30 if preregistered before September 23, $40 after September 23 |

Headstand and Shoulderstand Workshop with Danielle Lee Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM This workshop is designed to guide you to learn two of the most important yoga postures — the Headstand (Sirsasana) and the Shoulderstnad (Sarvangasana). The headstand is called "the king of asanas" and the shoulderstnad "the queen or the mother of asanas" because they have profound psychic, physical, and psychological benefits. This workshop is designed for those who are new to headstand and shoulderstand as well as those who wish to strengthen their regular practice. You will learn to build the foundation for a safe, enjoyable practice through helpful warm-ups, proper alignment, and safe entry and exit techniques. Regular Headstand and Shoulderstand practice improves circulation, lymph drainage, digestion, elimination, energy level and mood in general, and is cleansing and nourishing at the deepest levels.
