I initially started practicing pilates because I had heard that it would compliment my yoga practice — this could not be more true! Since I have started going to pilates classes at The Yoga Room, my asana practice has literally started to take off. I feel so much more engaged and lifted with each and every movement, that I can't imagine having ever practiced yoga without incorporating pilates as its natural partner. There have been some other amazing benefits, too: my tummy, back, arms and legs are stronger than ever and my lower back is no longer being abused through poor posture.
